Silence

Silence is so cold;
it envelopes warmth
and overflows.

Silence is dark, dreary;
it can lie and steal
without a sound.

Silence can love and hate;
burn and freeze,
caress and hold.

Silence needs no words
to interpret it's meaning,
it needs only understanding.

Silence is night, dark;
silence is pinpricks of light
showering through empty air.

Silence is peace;
it is hope and pain;
it is life.

How can one thing
have so many contradictions?
Silence is...quiet.

Anyone who enjoyed Alice in Wonderland should love this silly romp through a world of words and fantasy and double entendre.
