The report of the gun echoes over the crowd
And the cheering and laughter is ever so loud
While the vendors call out, selling all of their stock,
And the fans begin chanting the time on the clock,
And the players compete despite all their doubt,
For they know that too quickly the time will run out;
It's a sport filled with passion and thrills and delight,
Whenever we sit down to write on this site.
