Forty Seventh & Broadway

by Michael Pratt

This is actually something that I have done and have experience. Based upon true events. I have done this very thing myself. This will be a multi part story. I pray that this encourages you and those that don't know Jesus as their personal Savior. Time is drawing nigh. Repent before it is too late.

The following is a piece of writing submitted by Michael Pratt on November 23, 2008

Forty Seventh & Broadway

Frank stood at a height of six foot five inches and had brown hair, brown eyes and weighed 200 pounds. He worked at a local mom and pop shop that sold all sorts of different odds and ends anywhere from a pad of paper to table lamps to various reading books of different subjects and genres.

As he arrived at the Plaza he noticed that there were more people than normal walking up and down 47th street on the plaza. There were multiple locations on the corners that had people doing anything from dancing, painting and singing to your common musician trying to make a buck.

“Looks like there may be a better crowd than last week.” Frank thought as he turned up broadway off 47th street to find a parking spot close to where he was going to be.

“Praise the Lord!” he stated out loud as he pulled in to a parking spot right close to where he was gong to be.

Frank shut his vehicle off and bowed his hed in prayer.

“Lord I pray that you provide me someone to share your Gospel with that is willing to listen Lord I pray that you will be my lips as I proclaim your name and that those people around me will hear and repent of their sins and put their faith and trust in you Lord. As it says in your word that you are the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father but through You. Lord protect me this day and get me home safe. I Jesus name I pray, Amen.”

He opened his drivers side door of his Green 1999 Dodge Dakota Sport grabbing his New Testament bible on the passenger side. He reaches in the back of his truck and gets out a small toolbox step stool and briskly walks across the street to the other side. With his keys still in hand he hits the lock button on his keys and with a beep of the horn his truck goes locked. As he approached his spot he wondered if God was going to move people to day. He had been praying all week for fruit to be produced and that God would get the glory out of his works for the Gospel of Christ. Frank still got nervous every time he did the work of the Lord because it was much different than in a church environment. Instead of the lost going to church you brought the church to the lost and sometimes that can bring out conflict.

Frank leaned against the wall of the book store watching the people as they walk by wondering if they know the Lord or not. Frank’s heart started to break as the thoughts of Judgment Day play through his mind. He imagined the people walking by facing the Lord and being cast into the lake of fire and spending an eternity in a very real place called Hell.

“Lord I don’t want to stand before you and have to tell you I never shared your Son with anyone. I don’t want their blood on my hands because I didn’t proclaim your Gospel to them.” Frank thought as he headed for the corner of the intersection.
