This post was written in 9 minutes.
This post is a Grab Bag which uses the following words: superficial, laboratory, antisocial, matron, double-check, sodden, steamy, conglomerate, ineligibility, half-and-half
My challenge to myself was to use them in the order they were given.

After a superficial glance into the laboratory, the antisocial matron proceeded down the polished corridor to double-check the hospital laundry. Yesterday she had found a sodden heap of towels on the floor of the steamy room. They called her antisocial, but she preferred to think of herself as efficient, and she certainly wasn't one to waste words.
Since the hospital had become part of a huge medical conglomerate she had learned of her ineligibility to climb further up the promotions ladder which had left her feeling rather half-and-half about what she had once considered to be her ideal career.
