Christmas shopping is best avoided, but if that's not possible then keep it to an absolute minimum. I have a friend who goes to one store and buys multiples of one very carefully selected, but not too expensive gift. Problem solved.
It seems that expectations are so high. Can you imagine little Johnny's shock if he didn't receive that expensive electronic doo-da gizmo? And those so called stocking fillers that could fill the bill as main events on their own.
It's just all so comercially driven. Buy! Buy! Buy!
