 | I couldn't actually think of a suitable name for my mythological creature hence the Nameless One. 8-) | | This post has been awarded 12 stars by 3 readers. |
A long way back before real time began, Before the village, before the trees or man The Nameless One stood huge upon the land And steadily with force in his strong hands He pushed and shaped the hills as potters’ clay.
He gouged green fertile valleys deep and wide And formed the steep slopes of the mountainside. He smiled and breathed life deep into the earth Which shook and quivered as if ‘twas filled with mirth And deep inside the mount, mirth swelled and grew.
Huge chunks of solid joy flew through the air And lava giggles squeezed out everywhere. So now the villagers’ hearts are filled with dread Each time old Nameless starts to shake his head And deep within, his laughter starts to build.
An ancient song is sung by firelight, As frenzied chants continue through the night. They know that it is he who rules the land The very earth upon which humans stand. ‘Oh Nameless One, please sleep once more, we beg.’
