The currawong sits on the edge of the bowl. Strong and sturdy; big beaked bird. All shiny black with a white tipped tail. And white winks hidden in folded wings. He dips his beak, throws back his head. The other birds are not in view- They all respect the currawong. The black one drinks his fill, then flies ‘Til his call is heard from distant treetops. A rainbow of parrots return to my garden. They all respect the currawong.

Comments Mathax Jan 25, 2009 | You have parrots? I would like to have one. ~Posted by Mathax, Jan 25, 2009 | Scribbler Jan 25, 2009 | Lots of parrots live in the countryside round here. I put out fresh water and seed every day to encourage them to visit. I have seen 6 different types of parrot in my garden, all different colours and often at the same time. ~Posted by Scribbler, Jan 25, 2009 |
