This post was written in 1 minutes.
A juxtaposition of two views of the same jetty.

jetty high above the water line
boat ramp useless so far from shore
a sign for anglers only mocks
six years drought

stressed trees drop leaves
saplings wilt in parched ground
only the hardy can survive
six years drought

and then the rains come
the grateful earth drinks its fill
down hill trickles turn into torrents
the drought has broken

water high up to the jetty
trailers on ramp, boats in water
picnics on shady shorelines
the drought has broken
