Harry Baboon sat on the fire escape steps with his head in his hairy hands,, his mind in a turmoil. 'Have we learned nothing? ' he asked himself sadly. 'Even though we have deciphered much of the history of the hu-men, and can recognise the folly of their ways all those millennia ago. Folly which we now know almost destroyed the whole planet and all the creatures on it. Concurrent with our recognising this, we are stupidly repeating the pattern. It's as if we are programmed for our own destruction.'
