All ye need listen to what I do say
Not written by man but penned by the fey
Tis poems that I tell of both riddle and rhyme
To speak in couplets is magic, no matter what kind
Mere mortals who try will become lost in the iambs
And their thoughts turn to miss mash like berries in jams
I know it looks easy from your side of the page
Even gangsters now do it as rap vents their rage
Take this as a warning don't let your words turn to verse
For poetry's a mistress who will make your life worse
