|It's a shame that Youth is wasted on the young|
When I was young I loved my birthdays quite a lot
For they're what marked the passing of time that I sought
I longed to be much older yes I wished to be adult
To call me just a kid was nothing short of insult
Now that I am older it doesn't bother me at all
To be called kid not mister would really be a ball
Take care of what you wish for when young and immature
My birthdays come so fast now I find them hard to endureCopyright 2011 R. Wesley Lovil. All rights reserved. FifteenMinutesOfFiction.com has been granted non-exclusive rights to display this work. For permission to reprint this item, please contact the author.
