Ode to a Most Perfect Food

You may sail your ship across the tide
As you search the world both far and wide
The quest for substance that's fit for a king
Is really quite easy, don't make it a thing
From pungent and sharp to soft and mellow
In colors and hues from white to dark yellow
The answer is cheese, so many flavors to offer
So don't try to choose just fill up your larder
