 | I've noticed that all my "Today I Wish" poems start out with the first line made of 3 iambs followed by an anapest, but after the first line I always switch to iambic or anapestic.
I thought this time I'd try keeping the combined iamb/anapest meter through the whole poem. | | This post has been awarded 28 stars by 7 readers. | | This post is Part 6 of a writing series titled Today I Wish.... |
Today I wish that I was a worm; I'd creep and crawl and wriggle and squirm. I'd hide in all the unlikely spots - On sidewalks, roads, and cracked flower pots, But best of all, 'twould give me delight To be the one who causes such fright, When you, surprised and quite unaware, Unearth me in your half-eaten pear!
