Advice For My Son

My son, it's time to sit and talk
Of things that vex your mom and me;
We're sure we need to intervene,
And all the neighbors do agree.

We hate to see the hours you keep;
You're soon to bed and soon to rise -
Unless you want to feast on worms,
We feel this habit is unwise.

And all the time you spend outdoors;
You're out before the sun's first gleam.
Please spend your time at home instead;
Fresh air all day is quite extreme.

And son, your hobbies are absurd
We're sure you're making grave mistakes:
No matter how adept you are,
You should not juggle sharpened stakes.

We must address at last one thing
For which there is no good excuse:
You've shamed the vampire world, you see
By drinking naught but carrot juice.
