A violent and brutal, yet colorful butterfly
Armed with spinach that was stolen from Popeye,
Began to hurl - with great vigor and eagerness -
Elephants, tigers, a giraffe and rhinonceros,
Over the edge of the Grand Canyon's long drop,
And ignored every plea for the violence to stop.
The lesson we learn from this tragic, sad story
That has an ending so ugly and gory:
While spinach is healthful, and makes us quite strong,
Feeding spinach to butterflies is just plain wrong!

I liked "Grand Canyon's vertical drop", but I think changing it to "long drop" makes the rhythm smoother. :)
