Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

issues

today is the day
the day i will face them, smile and talk
the day where im going to pretend like nothing has happened between us
i'll take pictures with them and smile
converse about my new school and how i miss them
talk about the cute football players and the baseball guys
and worst of all look at her and ask her how she is
see if shes moving on as hard as i am
if she's even effected by the fact that we aren't friends anymore
probably not
i doubt she even cared
but how could she?
8 years of my life i spent with her
riding horses, talking, playing, dancing
and one fight later its over
done, and we're nothing
now tell me how does that work?
one fight breaks an 8 year friendship
it doesn't make sense to me, and quite honestly i dont think it ever will.
