Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

The following is a piece of writing submitted by Sylvan Sylph on July 29, 2008
"Have you ever been in a relationship where it seemed that no matter how much you tried, and succeeded, in changing for the better the other person could not or would not see it? Did it make it that much harder to keep trying?"

Blind to Beauty

I'm beautiful, in the waning light,
Like I've always longed to be.
The cynicism, the tiredness
Have all been locked away.
Worries and hurriedness
Belong unto the day.
I can forget them now;
I've always wished I could.
Just like you tell me how
You really think I should.
All of the frowns have gone
Replaced now with a smile.
It may not last for long;
They'll come back once in awhile.
But I'm beautiful, just for tonight.
How I wish that you could see.
