Humanity
Why do some things feel so rightWhen we know deep down they're wrong.
Why do we hand out a compliment,
When we know that it's only a lie.
Why do we let bad men go free,
When the good ones are left to die.
Why do we worry about our weight,
When a million children starve will starve tonight.
Why do we claim to fight for equality,
When we refuse the rights of our neighbors.
Why do we celebrate our own faith,
When we hate the beliefs of others.
Why do we preach the importance of love,
When we're not even sure what love is.
Why do we question the things that we do,
When we know that the answer is easy.
We do what we do because we are human
And this humanity we sometimes forget.
