laughing children with
spellbound anticipation,
longing for the day

Santa's reindeer prance
in their imagination,
waiting for the day

cluttered floors strewn with
gift tags, shredded paper and
treasures of the day

tired children sleep;
peaceful and contented rest,
dreaming of the day
