A tall straight tree and a breath of fresh air
in a world filled with smog

A touch of compassion and a moment of peace
in a world torn by war

A word spoken truly, a heart with no deceit
in a world proud of lies

A husband and wife bound together with love
in a world devoid of fidelity

Eyes that shine with understanding and good sense
in a world that has gone mad

A table topped with fine food,
surrounded with true friendship,
in a world that is starved for both.

Powerful.
A table topped with fine food,
surrounded with true friendship,
in a world that is starved for both.
Very true. like a lamp on a hill in a dark place.

One of my favorite Grisham novels; this story makes me laugh more than any of his others.
