Heaven Is Where...

Heaven is where
Hope and love forever meet,
Where goodness shines like silver stars
And shadows flee.
Heaven is where
Even tears are blessed
Where sorrows, blown upon the wind
Dissipate, and are gone.
Heaven is where
Every taste of goodness divine
Is nurtured, praised, and then at last,
Finds itself at home.
Heaven is where
Basest instincts of the human heart
Are forgotten blights on history's page,
And are no longer named.
And if, should strength allow,
By kindly thought or gracious deed,
I build a tiny shred of heaven here on earth,
That is where I wish to be.
