There was a hindrance
When my words were spoken;
The brilliant comeback,
The purposeful token,
Developed inside,
Seems to have sounded
Far more mature,
Witty, and grounded;
Before leaving my mouth,
With much less allure
Than my mind had planned -
I can see you do not understand.
