He put eternity within their hearts,
Yet left them without knowledge of their days,
And some, in fear of age, by many arts
Have hoped to keep the steps of time at bay.
Yet others, wiser in the ways of God,
Will find a fullness in enduring years,
And will not hide from time with weak facade,
As gentle wisdom's silver badge appears.
Oh, some will speak of women and of men
Who carry passing years with gracefulness,
But how much greater an ambition then,
To carry every year with graciousness.
Yes, silver does with untold wealth imbue,
And wisdom's badge is beautiful on you.
