Behold! The darkened skies where stars once shone, And sunlight cast its joyous warming gaze; See how the moon is hurled from nighttime throne, No more to cheer the night with mirrored rays. Behold! The mountain crags and high plateaus That once imposed themselves on distant clouds; See granite kings, imposing silent rows, Brought low o'er all the earth, a deathly shroud. Behold! The frightened people in the night, Who plead for falling mountain rocks to slay, Yet death eludes and hides himself for spite - A demon cat who toys with helpless prey. So light gives way to dark and hopes to fears, As discord fills the music of the spheres.
