Lift up Your Eyes

Posted by Douglas, Feb 5, 2008. 765 views. ID = 555
This post was written in 2 minutes.
A church down in southern Maine asked me if I would write a song for their missions conference, based on John 4:35.

This is just the first draft...I'm sure it'll change a lot before I'm through with it.

There is a stream that gently flows
Spreading hope throughout a dry and barren land
For all who thirst, there's water for their soul,
A living hope, springing up,
Unto eternal life

Lift up your eyes and look to the fields
See the harvest awaiting
Lift up your eyes and look to the fields
See.....the harvest waiting

There is a hunger that grows within
For the bread of life that ever satisfies
The Father seeks for desperate starving souls
To Worship Him in spirit and
To worship Him in truth

Lift up your eyes and look to the fields
See the harvest awaiting
Lift up your eyes and look to the fields
See.....the harvest waiting

The words look good, but I think I'd really have to hear it to a tune to be able to tell you any more. I'm sure you know how that is...

It would be lovely to hear the music with it. :-)

I agree words are beautiful and flow well, yet would love to here the music behind it.

Thanks. It'll be awhile before I have a recording ready to post; every time I tweak the music I end up tweaking the words, and vice versa. :)

Heh. You're forgetting that he's a web programmer. He could post it here if he wanted. :-P

I like it. Just realized that this was not a topic of conversation earlier. Sorry 'bout that.

A wonderful picture book that will keep children entranced for many hours as they try to find words beginning with each letter of the alphabet.
