Apostrophes and commas, semi-colons, question marks: They give a bit of clarity to all of your remarks - Along with periods ('full stops' to all our British friends) That firmly halt communications at their proper ends. It can be so confusing; every mark must have its place, Or else your manuscript will face derision and disgrace. So I have practiced proper punctuation every day, And so ensure my writing will not fall in disarray, But in this age of high technology and internet One punctuation mystery still causes me to sweat; On this dilemma every single website swims or sinks: Oh, does that period go in or out of hyperlinks?

Comments Scribbler Dec 12, 2008 | To me it matters not a jot where you place that little dot. I do not know where it should go in your character string or no. Just make that link within your text take me straight to what comes next. ~Posted by Scribbler, Dec 12, 2008 | Jeff Howe Dec 15, 2008 | Ha! The period at the end of a hyperlink must needs go out or there is browser confusion, eh? I have taken to writing much of my poetry without punctuation of late in part to see how it goes in construct without the little road maps, but mostly, perhaps, due to laziness. Humorous poetry.
