"A funny thing happened last year when I was hiking."
"Oh yes? What's that?"
"Well, an odd sort of coincidence. I was hiking with my brother and my nephews, and we hiked from Sugarloaf Mountain to Spaulding Mountain. Along the way we found a plaque commemorating the completion of the Appalachian Trail."
"That's not really a coincidence."
"Well, no. But the odd thing was, we just happened to be there on the 70th anniversary of the completion of the Appalachian Trail."
"No kidding! You mean you were at the point where the Appalachian Trail was completed 70 years after it was completed? To the day? That really is kind of odd."
"Yeah."
"So what day was the Appalachian Trail completed?"
"Uh...I don't remember. Hang on. Let me look that up...Huh..."
"What?"
"What an odd coincidence. Would you believe...it was 71 years ago today!"
