"What would you do if you stopped believing in Santa?"

Letter To Santa Claus

Dear Santa,

My name is David*. I have a problem. I have heard through many people that you're not real. I want to know, is that true? I'm almost ten years old and my cousin Eric says parents buy the gifts and put them under the tree. I've watched
my parents many times and they can't lift much at all! Last christmas (as you know) I got a dirt bike! Now, I know my parents are dirt poor and can't afford a new stuff. Which, is one more reason I know you're real! Over the years I've gotten many presents that I know my parents could never afford. But, no matter
how long my list is, you manage to get most of my items. My cousin Eric says
if I knew anything about physics I wouldn't believe in you. He's in High School.
But, if you're not real, that would mean my parents have lied to me. If they've lied
to me about you, what else are they lying about :~(?

My parents have told me they will never lie to me. And I've told my cousin that as well. He laughed at me. (sniffle, sniffle) I need someone I can trust and you seem to be the only one I can trust. I remember when I was seven and I wrote to you and you wrote back. I still have that letter! If you're fake, then I don't know who to trust. The more I think about what my cousin says, the more it makes sense. But, my dad tells me never to make judgment without hearing from both sides. So, if you're really out there, PLEASE prove it to me. So, I can shut my cousin up.

Sincerely Yours,
David, your favorite buddy.

P.S. I believe in you Santa. But, I can't prove you're real and it hurts,
