 | The reason death was the topic of choice was because just a couple days ago, this boy I knew in my neighborhood died. That... was my "inspiration" | | This post has been awarded 21 stars by 6 readers. |
This is the way the world ends: Shrouded in sorrow. A dreary night is ahead There will be no tomorrow.
Is it fate, coincidence? How cruel the world can be. Its lies and fake assurances, It took happiness away from me.
It was a day like any other; Bright as days can go. We took a stroll in the park, Time seemed to pass so slow.
As he walked in front of me Out onto the city street, A car racing from the corner Screeching against concrete.
I heard myself scream, "Teddybear! Watch out!" And, now, looking back Something else I should have shout.
He turned and looked at me, Here, time picked up pace. I saw horrow and panic I saw the sadness on his face.
Then, metal met flesh And flesh met ground. From my love, Came not a sound.
This is the way the world ends: No more will I ever hear, The words "I love you." From the one I hold so dear.
