A poem about someone lost at sea. ~Posted by Ferdinand
This is a poem/story about a ship lost at sea. It is written in many segments as I wrote it but the very last one is the poem in its full length if you want to read it in one setting.
The refrain of a song/poem about a sailor
In which I describe the reasons I went to sea in the first place.
Why I left my lady love for the open sea
I sing of the brotherhood of the sailors who bravely set to sea together, not knowing the future.
I journey around the tip of Africa and to the Orient.
On the return journey from the Orient, with our vessel laden with spices, disaster strikes
The storm becomes too much for our ship to bear.
I swim away from the wreckage of my vessel, and pray for help
The terrors and the wonders that I see as I am drowning
A mix of joy and grief concludes my story of the sailor and Davy Jones
The story of a ship which is lost at sea, written as a poem - a song with refrain.
