Writing Prompt: Argot

Writing prompt In his novel "Les Miserables," Victor Hugo spends a few chapters talking about "argot" - the street language of the criminal elements of Paris. According to Hugo, the street slang was very metaphorical. For example, a saw was called a "fandango" because if you used it to cut the chains on your feet, you would be able to dance again.

Write a short dialogue using slang of your own invention. Provide a translation at the end.
