Writing Prompt: National Poetry Writing Month - Week Two
National Poetry Writing Month - Week Two: Writing Prompt at Fifteen Minutes Of Fiction. Create a short piece of writing that fits the writing prompt.
|April is National Poetry Writing Month, so we will devote this month to poetry writing prompts.|
The "speaker" of a poem is the perspective that the poem is written from. Poems can be non-fictional, autobiographical expressions straight from the writer's feelings, but they can also be fictional exercises, in which the author essentially "plays a character." In some cases this character is very different, or has different perspectives or beliefs, than the writer themselves, and this may or may not be readily apparent to the reader.
Write a poem in which you are not the speaker. Whether your speaker is similar to or different from you, or even from the perspective of a human at all, is entirely up to you!
