Writing Prompt: Idiom Origins

Writing prompt An idiom is an expression whose meaning is unrelated to the traditional meanings of its constituent words. For example, "kick the bucket" is an idiom about dying, even though neither "kick" nor "bucket" have anything to do with death.

Pick an idiom and make up your own explanation for the origin of the idiom. Make it humorous if you can!
