Searching The Site

Posted by Douglas, Jan 15, 2008
This post was written in 6 minutes.

I'm sure some of you will notice this right off - others (particularly those who never log in and out when you visit the site) might not notice it quite so quickly.

There is no longer a Login/Logout link at the top of each page. You can find a login button on the home page, as well as login/out options at the bottom of each page.

Replacing the Login link in its place of honor at the top of the page is the "Search" link. Why? Because lately there've been a few times I wanted to find a piece of writing someone had done, only I couldn't remember WHO had written it. So, I go to the search page, type "Moose", click the www.fifteenminutesoffiction.com button, and search!

Sure enough, there's what I was looking for: The Plural of Moose.

If you don't click www.fifteenminutesoffiction.com before you search, you will get Google's page results from all over the web.

Also, please note that, since this search page uses Google technology, it will only find pieces of writing which Google has indexed. So when you write something, don't be surprised if it takes a week or more to show up on the search page!

Hmmm... I dunno if anyone else has more than one person using one computer, but I know that for me at least, having a logout button would be handy. Just a thought
