A Bit of Personal News

This post was written in 23 minutes.

This past week's writing prompt was about Math and English getting together: What if a mathematician and an English major got married?

What I didn't tell you is that this writing prompt had a basis in fact; I'm very excited and happy to announce that Laura (yes, our very own Fifteen Minutes of Fiction moderator) and I recently got engaged. We're both very excited about what the future holds, and are planning a summer wedding.

When you congratulate an engaged couple, it seems to be traditional to say "Congratulations" to the man, and "Best Wishes" to woman...I guess it's a polite way of saying to her, "Good luck, you'll need it!"

But you don't need to do it like that; here is your space to congratulate us. Just click the comment button below and tell us how happy you are for us. :D

Thank you, R. Wesley. And may I say, your commitment to the site is equally impressive; no one else is as consistent in doing the writing prompt week after week. I always enjoy reading your submissions. :)

Congratulations to you both! My husband and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary a few weeks ago and, let me tell you it just flies by!! It seems like only a few months ago that we were still sitting on the lounge room floor surrounded with lists and magazines! Enjoy this wonderful blessing and time that you have been given together. Congrats!!

Heh heh...you can if you would like, Anne...but maybe you should check with her sometime to find out what she wants you to call her. :)

And maybe sometime this year we'll all go up to Borestone to hike, like we wanted to do last year!

Borestone... isn't that near Big Moose Mountain?

Yes. When we hiked Big Moose, and we saw a pointy little mountain all by itself in the distance, that was Borestone.
