Writing Prompts - New Features

Posted by Douglas, Nov 15, 2007
This post was written in 8 minutes.

Good morning writers! I just wanted to let you know that I've added a couple new features to the site this morning. Yes, I was up early today - I've already written a new piece (Crying At A Funeral) AND added two new features. And it's not even 7:00 AM yet.

Aren't you proud of me? :D

Anyway, the new features are pretty small, but hopefully useful. I've noticed that people have a tendency to click the "New Post" link on their Writing Page when they want to respond to the Writing Prompt. I've even done that myself. The problem is, if you don't do the Writing Prompt starting from the Writing Prompt page, your post doesn't get listed with the others.

So, on your Writing Page, you'll now see a link titled "Do The Writing Prompt". Hopefully this will help people get their writing filed in the right place!

The other feature is this: I've created a Feed of Writing Prompts. If you visit the Writing Prompt page, you'll notice there's a new "Subscribe" button. If you use a feed reader (Google Reader, Outlook, Internet Explorer, etc) you can have the new writing prompts delivered to your feed reader each week.

And if you do the writing prompt, does the link go away? Or can you do it again?

Just out of curiosity. :-P
