Last Week's Writing Prompt, What's Coming For Thanksgiving

Posted by Douglas, Nov 10, 2007
This post was written in 17 minutes.

The last couple weeks I've waited until Saturday to pick my favorites among the Writing Prompt responses, and post them to the Writing Gallery. Next week I'm going to go back to adding them to the gallery throughout the week, rather than waiting until Saturday. However, I will still post a news item on Saturdays mentioning my favorites each week.

For this week, my favorites include writings by a couple of our regular writers, plus a brand new writer, who you may not have even noticed yet, since he/she just registered yesterday.

Milton's Lord Of The Rings Filmmaking Secrets was a piece that made me chuckle, as was murki's Tragedy In The Channel 57 Newsroom. Janee's It Troubles Me To See Such Tiny Folk was a much more serious piece, which made a point about not just the people who act on TV, but also the people who watch TV!

Those three were added to the Featured Gallery. In addition you might want to check out the following items if you haven't seen them yet: We Are Not Alone In The Universe by Michael K and Inside The Television by death_shadow

Something To Think About

Thanksgiving is coming soon (unless you're in Canada, in which case you've already had it this fall!). We treat Thanksgiving as a time for watching parades and football, and eating too much, but at its heart, Thanksgiving was a time for giving thanks (hence the very clever name Thanksgiving!)

During the week of Thanksgiving, the writing prompt will be to write a Free Verse Poem about things you are grateful for. So this coming week, you can be thinking about what you're thankful for in life, so you'll be ready for next week's Writing Prompt!
