Merry Christmas!

I wanted to take just a moment to wish all our writers and readers a very Merry Christmas! In honor of the season, I've written a Christmas poem, which you can find here: Hope's Ugly Sister. I also put it in the featured gallery.

I don't normally use this space to promote other websites, but the last couple weeks I've been working on a couple websites that I'm quite proud of, and I would highly recommend that you visit. As you consider the fact that Christmas is not just about Hope, but also about Woe, we would do well to remember those less fortunate than ourselves. The two websites listed below are websites of His Hands Support Ministries - a non-profit organization which works to make a difference in the lives of the poorest of children in the world.

His Hands For Haiti
His Hands For Africa

If you click on the Child In Need links on either of these sites, you will find a list of children who are waiting for sponsorship. As a Christmas gift to those who face great suffering, consider sponsoring a child. The cost of sponsorship through HHSM is remarkably low, and they do great work around the world.

Database Upgrade

You may have noticed that the FMOF site has had a bit of down time recently; you might have visited the site and found a message saying that the site is experiencing technical difficulties. There was an issue with the server that hosts our database. The database has now been moved to a new server, so things should be much improved. If you notice any problems, please let me know.

More Upgrades

Thanks to those who have given suggestions for improvements on the site. If you have ideas for features you'd like to see on the site it's not too late to make suggestions. Simply go to My Page - Options - Feedback and drop me a note with your ideas. I may not incorporate them all this time around, but you do have an opportunity to make your voice heard - so let's hear what you have to say!

I'll be adding new features to the site sometime in early 2009, so time is short to pass on your suggestions.
