Grab Bag

Posted by Douglas, Jun 24, 2008
This post was written in 5 minutes.

This morning I was trying to decide what to do for the 'E' writing prompt, but I couldn't come up with anything. So I opened my word list database on my computer and had the computer randomly select an 'E' word for me. The result was Exclusion.

Then I got thinking, it would be nice to have the computer randomly generate "Grab Bags" (lists of words to use in writing). If you're struggling to come up with an idea to write about, and you want some help getting started, go to Grab Bag.

You can ask the site to give you anywhere from one to ten words to use in your writing. Of course, the more words you ask for, the more challenging the writing becomes.

I tested the feature out by writing this piece: The Younger Generation

You can access this feature by clicking 'Writing Prompt' at the bottom of the page, or on the home page, or on your writing page, and then clicking 'Grab Bag'.

Hope you enjoy this fun little feature!

Is there a way to get to the Grab Bag without going through the news blog?

Probably someone forgot to read the whole blog entry again. ;)

Well, maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, but I'm not finding it on either the homepage or on my writing page... I did find it on the writing prompt page, tho...
