Covered Bruise

How much can I do...I've done all I can!
When that's not enough the more faster I ran.

Why don't you love me...is it cause I mourn?
When comforting others when troubles are born,

Why don't you love me? is it cause I smile?
No matter the pain...no matter the trial?
"
Why don't you love me?" is a question so rough,
Please leave my life...you broke it enough!

I've been rejected at every turn,
The reason why?...I'll have to learn.

Friends are like flowers...That's true I'm afraid,
As soon as you pick them they whither and fade,

Why am I the odd one out?
They call me the sun in this lasting drought,

Why am I that trampled flower?
Am I nothing but a coward?

I am that rejected stone,
While other jewels create a throne,

Am I just a piece of dirt?
My whole life is bitter hurt,

If only they would live my shoes,
They would find a covered bruise.
