I open my door to a wall
Wearing the humidity
Like a heavy shawl
Wrapped around my hair
I know its summer when
My shoulders ache with heat
Burning in the shower
Around my tan lined feet
Sunny days mean cider
Ice filled to the top
Dripping down the edges
Bubbles teem and froth
Sweat and sawdust
Sunshine plays
He smells like
A summer day
Humid days fill my lungs
A shower in my soul
Heated heartbeats flutter
Like summer only knows
The can sweats tears of summer
Against the heated wave
Drink it all away at once
To quench the thirsty days
The world is an oven
Heat seeps always in
Air conditioned poems
My heart will always win
A fool complains of sunshine
A fool complains of snow
Drink a beer in either
Gain a happy glow
Humid breeze upon my skin
Soaks me with its wine
Fill me up with summer
I will be just fine
