The following is a piece of writing submitted by Vicky Nojang on July 13, 2016
"My first flash fiction, fifteen minutes work."

Creature from the Depths!

Luke and Jane had been having problems in their love life. They needed some form of recluse to communicate with each other. Friday afternoon they set out for the beach. Jane looked enchanting in her sexy yellow bikini, she had purchased recently. She had the body to make any man go wild, the curves that made them lose their minds. Luke did not want to acknowledge but that woman always set something powerful that could be akin to rage in him. He felt a possessiveness in him whenever they ate out. He'd grown tired of punching men on their faces, who just eyed Jane's butts.

They needed to talk, their love life depended on it. On getting to the beach, the golden rays of the sun radiated the air, Jane needed a swim urgently so she out for the waves. "Be careful," Luke beckoned to an unhearing Jane. She had swam so far, so deep to where the currents were greatest. Alarmed, Luke went in search of her. He'd warned Jane in previous occasions bout sharks and fiery fish like beast creatures. Now of all times he had to play the hero on a rescue mission. He'd rather battle his fellow men than fish. Yaaa fish, perhaps just calling it that raised his spirits.

Jane had not realized how far she'd gone when she discovered, she'd stood on something, probably land. She eased up on it then felt it was of all things a penuin. Lovely penguin, the most colorful she'd ever seen. Just when she'd been feeling excited, she heard Luke's screams calling on her. She ignored him, yet his screams woke the waves to action, she lost control of herself and the waves took her to where the hungry sharks lay. A desperate attempt to run, yet her body felt numb all over. Now she wished she hadn't been arrogant and stubborn.

Luke she managed to say his name, I love you Luke. Just about to take her last breath, she felt him grab her and fling her on his shoulders. Then they swam to shore. Luke kissed his lady with intensity, it had to take the sharks for her to finally say those three powerful words.
