Undoer of your mistakes

I'm an eraser. I've always been one, all my life. I was always there when you needed me; to correct your mistakes. Wearing off to hide your mistakes was my entire duty. I got dirty in the job, lost all my lustre. You threw me whenever you liked. You were sure that I couldn't harm anyone. Also you knew that I'd bounce back; always. All my life I didn't have many friends. There was a tall lean guy who whose mistakes I was assigned to rub off. Making mistakes or not, he also wore off. You thought you were the permanent one. Or at least you hoped so.
In my childhood I thought I had practically no friends at all. There was another one, of my same size, but with a Razer blade in his mouth. He helped the thin guy stay sharp always. Always in 2-3 days intervals or so,the Razer guy would peel off the skin of the thin one. Brutal, was the scene. Under this conditions, I could trust none but one- one who always was fair and square. He ruled nobody but still was called a ruler.
From him I heard once that there are others of my kind in far away lands, that people used my kind of people for different purposes.I even heard, a distant relative of mine, fights vigorously to control human population. He belongs to a suicide squad. They're off to dustbin once they perform the duty well. I didn't know I had such popular relatives.
Another one is fat and round I heard. People keep feeding him with air and he entertains them in return. Just like me, he keeps coming back. People kick him, bash him using thick wooden logs, and throw him as far as they can. But he keeps coming back. I can even say that people love him. People love us. And we erase your mistakes, prevent them or encourages to make a lot of it.
