sensations around me
suckling; sweet smell of warm milk
cuddled close in loving arms
safely cradled

awaken alone
startled squalling
soaking sheets beneath
swift footsteps sound

a gentle touch
eyes latch on
to my mothers smile
soft arms embracing

soothing sounds
cold air as clothing removed
wet nappy stinks
are soon replaced by warm contentment
