Book review
As an avid reader of fantasy, dystopian and young adult fantasy being favorites, I have just read The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. I read all three books in two days, so compelling was the writing, at times with tears streaming down my face. There are so many parallels to the troubled world we live in today. Corruption, curtailment of freedom and the power wielded by a powerful and violent minority faction being but a few. Great characterization and a fast paced, suspense filled storyline help to make this trilogy a modern classic. It would be very difficult not to be emotionally engaged with the plight of the characters and their unique responses to a series of truly terrifying ordeals.
