How poems come to me

Posted by du courage, Nov 6, 2014. 997 views. ID = 6812
This post was written in 3 minutes.
I had a discussion with someone on Facebook about creating poems. He told me the idea comes suddenly, but after that it can take long time to polish them. It made me think of how my poems are born. I made a poem about it.

New poems always
drop out of the sky
like bird's poo on my head
when I'm passing by

or

I happen to be
at a place where I might
just be in time
for an egg dropped in flight

I love it! :) I wish there was a way to get your "flight" rhyme without the awkward phrasing in this line: "at time and place right"

That was the one thing that felt not-quite-right in a great poem.

Thanks for the suggestion to find something better to rhyme with flight. I'll wait till the right egg is dropped on my head. In the meantime suggestions are welcome.

Hi Douglas, your comment did it. I guess the egg just fell.
