Thankful #4 The Best Day of my Life

It's hard to believe there's no choices to make
That fate guides us through life like a boat on a lake
It's not my decision? To me that sounds lame
And yet I hardly knew her, didn't remember her name
She wasn't a beauty still a sparkle in her eye
Yet to say I was attracted would be just a lie
I sat down beside her 'cause the seat was just there
As we talked I found she had many things she could share
We drank coffee and laughed and had a good time
Yet never once did I think about making her mine
Then I thought why not, and asked her out on a date
We've still together and I give the credit to fate
