Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

The following is a piece of writing submitted by Zora on November 27, 2012
"This tale is fine by itself but it makes more sense for those who have read the house of Night series. Especially Marked."

Elizabeths transformation

Elizabeth begins to stir but cannot open her eyes. She tries lifting her arms and legs but everything is immobile.

"What is going on", she think, "Where am I?"

She begins to feel a sharp pain in her arm and slowly falls back into the abyss of darkness she came from. Several hours later, she jolts upward with her eyes wide open. Her glossy brown hair is frizzy and dry. She looks upon her hands and they are ghostly pale.

"What the..." She growls instead of finishing her sentence. " What is happening", she thinks, "Why can't i control myself?"

Then she turns her head without her own permission and sees she is in the basement of the school. There is a small wall mirror across the room from her. She stares into it as if the person she sees is not herself. A scream begins to bubble from the depths of her throat but it gets caught half way out. All that comes out is a low, wet snarl. she stares into the mirror and sees her face twisted into a monstrous form. This other being begins to smirk and raises Elizabeth off the table and begins to walk toward the door.

"What are you", she thinks toward the creature, "how are you inside of me?"

The creature stops and cackles. It echoes through the room with such venom even the cockroaches go into hiding.

" I am you or should i say you are now me" the creature states.

"Lebion!", a voice bellows from the other side of the door. "Now come forth so shall the prophecy be fulfilled. Your brethren shall be released in the order the ancient ones have foretold. Step out and view the world that will become yours again!"

The door is unlocked and is pushed open slightly.

" I know that voice, Elizabeth thinks, "but it can't be".

"It is",responds Nefferet , " And yes i can hear you my child. I have been waiting a long while for your return. You fight even when fighting is useless which made you the perfect candidate for the great warrior Lebion."
