The Test of Time
At first there was passion, hot as a flameAlas more is needed for your love to remain
For flames will cool down as embers still glow
But if your mate is your friend your love will still grow
It takes laughter and fun to make a life that's worthwhile
For real love to last it needs a kiss and a smile
I can attest to all this for I speak from my heart
Our love is as strong as it was from the start
