A Week Later...

Specialations. That's the name of the store where Joel bought me my Christmas gift. He knows that I'm into yoga, but really? A manger scene where all of the biblical figures are in different poses, even the animals? Warrior I makes sense, as well as Warrior II and III. In a slightly mediocre way, it's fitting that the Warrior poses are used, as a way of reflecting the symbolism of Christ as a warrior. But...Camel? And Cobra? And Crow? What's with all the C's and the insane body postures? I suppose the main problem is that the infant Jesus is doing a headstand. Did these people even know what yoga was back then? Something tells me that it was centered a little further south. I appreciate the idea, but when have I ever imagined that Joel would buy me anything like this? I honestly can't ascertain what exactly to derive from this apparatus. Do I praise it as a creative, positively charged work, or do I dismiss it as disrespectful? I suppose for now it can stay. There's something about the bright colors of the garments of the figures, and the pastel yellow hay and sunlight in the background that make this manger scene unique. You know what, who am I kidding? Oh come, let me adore it. The whole practice of yoga is based on meditation, and perhaps the creator of this manger scene simply wanted to illustrate that there are many ways to reflect on the birth of Jesus through the postures and colors in this scene. Specialations, you can keep your money- Joel made the right choice.
